Rewrite The Stories That No Longer Serve You
— Grounded Practice
You don't have to navigate this alone. Grounded Practice provides professional, neuro-affirming counselling for adults facing anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, and addiction. Whether you are moving through a difficult life transition, navigating relationship struggles, or working through deep-rooted patterns, we will work together to build a life that feels authentic to you. Serving clients in-person in Vancouver, BC, and online across Canada.
My Approach
Therapy here goes beyond managing symptoms. We work to understand why you're struggling—the patterns, beliefs, and old stories that keep you stuck—and discover what it actually looks like to live as yourself, not the version you were told to be.
You're the expert on your own life. My work is to help you see the patterns you may be too close to notice and support you as you decide what actually needs to change. Some clients come for short-term, focused work on specific issues. Others, here in Vancouver and across Canada, dig deeper into long-standing patterns. We move at whatever pace makes sense for you.
-

Narrative Therapy
During sessions we look at the stories shaping your life, including ones you may have inherited about who you should be, what success means, how relationships work. Many of these stories may have been written early in life and no longer fit. Together we examine where they came from and what it might look like to rewrite them.
-

Mindfulness
A mindfulness practice can help you notice what's happening in the body and mind without being swept away by it. Mindfulness has been shown to help regulate anxiety, pause before reacting, and cultivate self-compassion and self-love.
-

Depth Work
Sometimes the real issue isn't the obvious one. Turning attention to recurring patterns, what shows up in dreams both literal and symbolic, and the things you've noticed but haven't yet said out loud, may be calling for your attention. This work seeks to uncover the "why" beneath the surface, potentially leading to a more expansive understanding of yourself.
Common Reasons People Seek Therapy
-
Specialized therapy for anxiety, depression, and the weight of chronic stress. If you are navigating low mood, persistent sadness, or the paralyzing effects of panic, we work together to restore a sense of emotional balance. These struggles often stem from patterns established early in life—therapy helps you understand their roots, challenge negative self-talk, and develop new, grounded ways of responding.
-
Trauma-informed care for PTSD and emotional overwhelm. Early-life experiences can leave lasting imprints on our nervous system. I provide a safe space to process trauma and reclaim your sense of safety, helping you move from a state of constant "high alert" to one of presence and peace.
-
Navigating relationship conflict, attachment wounds, and intimacy. Whether you’re struggling with communication breakdowns, grief and loss, or recurring relational patterns, therapy creates space to understand the complexity of your emotions. We work to build emotional safety and discover what needs to shift for healthier connections.
-
Strengths-based support for ADHD and Executive Function. ADHD isn't just about focus—it's emotional dysregulation, rejection sensitivity, and chronic shame. I work with adults who've spent years "masking" or being told to just try harder. Together, we build strategies that fit your unique neurology and address the emotional toll of being misunderstood.
-
Addiction is often a profound attempt to regulate a nervous system in distress or to numb stories that are simply too painful to carry. My approach to substance use recovery is deeply compassionate and entirely free of judgment. We won't just focus on the behavior; together, we will explore the root causes—such as underlying trauma, burnout, or unmanaged ADHD. Whether you are pursuing complete sobriety, practicing harm reduction, or simply wanting to understand your relationship with substances, we will work collaboratively to build practical coping tools and a life you don't feel the need to escape from.
-
Neuro-affirming care for Autistic and Neurodivergent adults. Living in a world not built for your brain can lead to sensory overwhelm and social exhaustion. I support late-diagnosed adults in understanding their neurology, reducing the burden of masking, and developing life strategies that honor their authentic selves rather than fighting them.
-
Guidance through midlife transitions and identity changes. Major life shifts often force us to re-examine our purpose. If you feel a gap between who you are and who you’re "supposed" to be, we use therapy to explore these existential questions and author a new story for your next chapter.
-
Support for burnout, exhaustion, and creative blocks. If you are stuck in a cycle of overwork and under-living, therapy can help you regulate your nervous system and set sustainable boundaries. We work to overcome perfectionism and fear so you can reconnect with your creative potential and flow.

I help adults navigate the stories that no longer serve them. Whether you are struggling with the exhaustion of ADHD, the weight of addiction, or the disorientation of a major life transition, my role is to provide a grounded space for deep, clinical exploration.
Clinical Expertise
Addiction & Substance Use: With experience in both private practice and inpatient treatment centers, I support people through the complexities of recovery and harm reduction. I focus on the underlying drivers of substance use and the practical process of rebuilding a life of agency.
Grief, Loss & Mortality: Having provided counseling in residential hospice settings, I have a deep specialized background in supporting families through terminal illness and bereavement. I am comfortable sitting in the profound questions that surface when time becomes finite.
Neuro-Affirming ADHD Support: I work with adults, particularly men and late-diagnosed individuals, navigating ADHD. I understand the emotional toll of executive dysfunction, rejection sensitivity, and chronic shame. My approach combines professional strategy with a lived-experience understanding of how a neurodivergent brain actually works.
Identity & Life Transitions: I provide inclusive support for the LGBTQ+ and non-monogamous communities, specifically helping those questioning inherited beliefs, sexual identity, or facing midlife shifts that shake their sense of self.
Therapeutic Approach
My work is an integration of Narrative Therapy (re-authoring your life story), Mindfulness & Somatic Practices (regulating the nervous system), and Depth Psychotherapy (uncovering subconscious patterns). I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all advice; I believe in a collaborative practice where you are the expert on your life, and I alongside you on the process of change.

Conversations on Healing, Wellness, and Being Human. I am currently developing a new podcast dedicated to thoughtful, long-form conversations that center on clinical expertise, lived experience, human intuition, and the wisdom of practice. My guests include psychotherapists, somatic practitioners, educators, artists, and others whose work deeply engages the human condition. Whether through traditional psychotherapy, body-based approaches, or creative expression, these conversations explore how human presence helps us make sense of our experiences. It is a shared commitment to connection, healing, and the nuanced understanding that comes from deep reflection.
